It's Not a Mystery to Be a Pick-up Artist...

A lot of guys are asking me about how to become a "pickup artist," and what it's like to be a pickup artist.

In fact, there are also a lot of guys who want to know about the reality television show "Pick-up Artist" on VH-1 with Erik Von Markovic, AKA "Mystery," previously with the Mystery Method.

Let's talk about the term "pick-up artist" for a second.

What does it mean?

Well, in my book, a pick-up artist is a guy who develops specific social skills - a method - to attract women so that he will get an advantage in the Game of dating and seduction.

Does this mean that he's a bad guy? A jerk? A woman-hater?

No, not at all. However, as I'm about to reveal to you, many so-called "pick-up artists" don't understand the true nature of their skills.

There are a lot of pick-up artists (PUAs, as they're often called - sometimes pronounced "poo-ah") that simply want to be able to "stack the deck" in their favor because they feel wronged or slighted by the fact that women control the sex. It goes without saying that if you're looking to trick or manipulate women to fulfill your own low self-esteem, this isn't the way to do it.

First of all, I want you to realize something: Most guys (and pick-up artists) just want a level playing field when it comes to sex and dating. They want to remove the mystery from the game of social dynamics and learn how to attract women and get some sexual power.

Some people have even said to me, "But, Carlos, aren't you a pick-up artist?"

No, I'm not.

I have never used that term to describe myself, and here's why: I'm simply an Alpha Man looking to improve his social attractiveness skills. When I was fortunate enough to figure out how these skills worked, and that they are actually the key to being more successful in LIFE, that's when I wrote The Dating Black Book to help other guys jump up that learning curve and stack the deck the right way - by becoming an Alpha Man and living the Alpha Lifestyle.

You see, when you become more socially aware and capable, you cease being just a "pickup artist" and you become the Alpha - the leader, the man that women admire and respect.
